It is through our knowledge that we increase our ‘personal best’ and acquire ‘assets’ of real and ever lasting value in this life and the life hereafter. In the Holy Qur'an we are told by Allah:

وَالَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ دَرَجٰتٍۗ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرٌ

"Allah will exalt in degrees those of you who believe and those who have been granted knowledge. And Allah is well-acquainted with what you do."

(Surah al Mujaadilah, ayah: 11)
